Hi there,

I have an iPhone 11, whose battery usually lasts me 1.5-2 days between charges. Over the past week or so (maybe less), I've noticed that it's drained much faster and required a charge each day.

I've gone into the battery section of the settings app and see thsat What's app has been responsible for 23% over the past day (13% over the past 10 days). For the past 24 hours, it says 'background activity' next to the 23% useage. This is the highest, followed by Mail at 20% (no background activity) and Safari at 15% (no background activity either). I have background app refresh set to 'off' in settings, so it can't be that, I don't think.

Any tips on how to fix this, please? I know I had a recent What's App iOS app update to version 2.20.51, so wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar issues or knows that it's to do with the latest update?

Thanks!

I’ve had similar on my iPhone 7. Apps draining when not used. I ended up deleting Mail app as that was doing it. Then got similar with Siri, not used, then Deleted apps! It’s suddenly seems ok again now. But it has been happening for over a month. The phone is only six months old. Nobody seems to be able to help.

I forgot to update this thread. I called Applecare support, who advised me to close all apps and reboot. It seemed to sort the issue. I now go around 1.5-2 days without needing to charge.
