obviously faster CPU A13 or 14 etc
Flat edge design like iPad Pro
128gb flash 4gb RAM base model
12MP 4K front camera, faster Face ID
Touch ID in display or in back
No physical mute switch - software toggle in control center
120hz Promotion display
Pencil 2 support
Charge Apple Watch wirelessly with back of iPhone
Better battery life - thicker is fine
Speakers on top edge, better landscape audio, louder
AirPods included in box
Exclusive software features - camera modes, gesture input via cameras without having to touch phone?

Well, in terms of what I think are more realistic items for my personal wish list, I guess they would be:

  • Better camera
  • Second generation face ID which is faster and has a wider field of view without being locked to any specific orientation
  • Return to either aluminum, or brushed stainless steel like the iPhone 4.
I’m sure the new phone will be faster, but I haven’t had any slow down issues with my iPhone XS. I’m not a fan of the polish stainless steel with scratches constantly. I would like to either have aluminum like the iPhone XR or flat brush stainless steal sides like the iPhone 4

+ A screen with square corners. If not square, then less pronounced round.
+ No notch.
+ Two (2) USB-C ports.
+ Through screen touch ID (I know it won't happen).
+ Aluminum case.
+ Alert LED.

For the love of god, let us control the native white point. If you say "use Color Filters", I'll cut you.

Otherwise I really just want to see a ProMotion display, but I am not sure if that can be done with OLED, I remember seeing some discussion about that elsewhere.

That kind of list would cost $2K+ for a phone.

Not sure why? Chip improvements, 120hz display, better cameras, more storage, more ram, etc all tend to be upgraded every few years.
Pencil support isn’t costly, and Apple could easily add a small speaker to the top of the phone.
We already know the next phone will have more cameras, A13, a better front camera, and more. I don’t think I was that crazy in making up a wishlist.

64gb and 3gb RAM was iPhone X. To improve the next phone, the 11 or next after that 12, they should put 128 and 4gb ram inside, not that costly.

The AirPods in box would cost Apple more for sure, and they’d probably pass it on to the customer, but with no headphone jack since the 7 and “the future is wireless” they should not ship the phone with wired headphones in box in 2020. Obviously this won’t happen but it would be nice.

The Touch ID in display is never gonna happen I know, but **** it haha.

This is assuming the price is still 1000+ with tax, and for that high of a price you should get a lot of this.

AirPods in box? Why would you want to see the phone price increased that much? Just buy them separately.

I don’t see why Apple includes headphones in box anymore tbh, wired or wireless. But if they are going to, they should be AirPods. iPhones are really just computers so obviously no headphones are necessary in box, but the wired ones suck.

No headphone jack, “the future is wireless” = wireless headphones in box. Apple is stupid rich and could take the loss to sell more volume. Lots of companies sell hardware at a loss all the time to get units sold.

It’s the same with the iPad Pros, the new Pencil should be in the box. More people would buy it, try out the pencil, and discover how cool it is. They spread the word, and sales go up. Nothing like this is too expensive for Apple if they want to do it. I bet most iPad owners never buy or even try using the Pencil because it’s not in the box when they buy it.

It would also be a tempting reason to buy the phone if you don’t own AirPods and want a new phone. I have a 7 and someday I’ll buy a new iPhone. I don’t have AirPods and it would certainly factor into my decision to buy the XR vs the XS if the XS includes AirPods, otherwise why not just save myself the $250+ and get the XR?

As another member mentioned, the OP’s ‘wishlist’ isn’t a reality without a price tag that would exceed $2000 easily. And given the market saturation, that price wouldn’t survive in the current smart phone market, even though I like some of the listed features, Apple would likely never clump all those features into one phone, as they tend to ration certain features into different iPhone models to differentiate various price points.

USB C (must have or no upgrade)
promotion
fast charger included
reverse wireless charging
faster wireless charging 10w
improved battery life
