Today I've discovered a fault with my iphone camera. Try to take a pic. The screen is shimmering when focusing. Taken shots are blurry. And I can hear what sounds like static coming from the phone around the camera.

Did the Google thing and it seems that it may be a fault due to vibration. However, my phone hasn't been subjected to anything like that.

One guy suggested waving a magnet over the cameras. That appeared to fix it, but only for a short period of time.

Who's had this and how was it fixed?

If your iPhone camera is uncontrollably shaking, then the lens might be dirty. The thing is, if your lens has accumulated dust or debris, the camera's auto-focus (AF) will tend to go crazy. So, try wiping off your lens with a gentle, microfiber cloth

Thanks tradeapples. When I looked this up that was one of the suggested fixes which I tried. That and the magnet thing.

The problem seemed to go away but then it re-appeared the next day. I booked an appointment with the local telco where I bought it (here in Australia, warranty work is claimed against the seller of the item). But when I got there and we had a look at it, it was working fine.

Later that day, I took a photo of something. All good. Next shot, more shimmering on the screen, static coming out of the phone and out-of-focus images.

A few hours later, tried again. All good.

That was a week or so ago. Since then it's been fine.

Did you fix this problem?
I am running into the same issue with my 11 pro max. I noticed the issue can be easily reproduced when trying to focus on something very close, like 30cm or less.
This is happening for some 4-6 months but till now, quite rarely. Now it’s almost always. Thanks!

The problem comes and goes. So, I'm not worrying about it til at some point the AF is totally stuffed.
