Still thick AF.

I was thinking that at least they would make them much thinner if they can't make the notch smaller but no. Bezels pretty much just as thick. Maybe just a slight improvement.

Just don't get it how much Apple still lags behind some other (Android) hardware brands when it comes to screen tech and bezels.

The desire for symmetry I guess.
They want equally sided bezels on all 4 sides which results in very small improvements year-over-year.

But they could make it symmetrical. They can decrease thickness on sides and on top/ bottom. Just keep the notch.

I would nominate you as head of iPhone design in a heartbeat. I don’t know what those bozos are doing there. Drinking a kale smoothie maybe but I’d fife Richard Howarth and place you in his stead. Design is all about how it looks and we got to be balling these thick bezels? Aw hell no.

Minimal improvements , maximum charge. Welcome to Apple, but we all still buy.

How you know? All that’s been leaked is the back of the phone not the actual bezels of the screen.

Design is about how it works, feels, and looks. I remember discussion about design of the original iPad and how they worked out the final size, as well as the beveled edges to ease pick up and handling. It’s not just about looks.

It’s because Apple is a rudderless ship in the doldrums, for the first time I’m jumping ship, not waiting years for Apple to maybe catch up to third rate cheap phones, especially now that we’ll be wearing masks for years rendering Face ID obsolete. I’m getting a Pixel or a Galaxy Fe for 600-700 less than Apples “pro” phone that is embarrassed by them, and I’ll still have my pile of old iPhones to play with at home when I need iOS for something.

Clearly, competition hasn’t made Apple better, or care about doing better, maybe the only thing they’ll understand is when people stop giving them their money, especially their most loyal fans.

Apple thinks innovation is shopping at IKEA from home with that AR nonsense, there’s about 2 people on Earth that actually care about that.
