Do we think Apple will go full Samsung and charge upwards of $1500 USD for their flagship 12 iPhone model?

Or will they follow the pattern of same price as last year but newer specs?

With Lidar and 5G, my fear is the Pro models will be bumped up substantially. Then again they added it to the iPad Pro.

The regular 12 will likely be the bigger seller if it’s cheaper. But rumours are it will retain the 11’s body design.

It will be interesting how they price these given the state of the economy.

This is what I expect, more or less (maybe $50-100 difference).

Samsung's not selling millions and millions of the S20 5G at full MSRP.

I could see them charging more. They are only expanding the lineup. If rumors are true:

SE2 (already here)
SE2+ (rumored)
iPhone 12 5.4” (rumored)
iPhone 12 6.1” (rumored)
iPhone 12 Pro 6.1” (rumored)
iPhone 12 Pro 6.7” (rumored)

to me that opens the door for the top end Pro to approach the $1500 mark (Highest variant). Having so many choices means they can charge a super premium for the very best.

Top end Pro is already around the $1500 mark (iPhone 11 Pro Max 512GB).

The iPad Pros and MacBook Air have seen a price decrease from previous iterations and that was before COVID-19. Is Apple really going to bump up iPhone pricing even further that the top configuration is likely to cost $2000?

OP mentioned $1500, so I think the high end price stays there. I wouldn’t expect any reduction in price on the Pro model with so many options available.

American dollars are nice.. my XS Max was $1641 and it is only the midrange model lol.

Luckily I got it for 856..

I don't expect a price reduction on base models but I think we might see some adjustment in terms of storage tiers. Possibly the following.

12 Pro
$999 128GB
$1099 256GB
$1299 512GB
$1499 1TB

12 Pro Max
$1099 128GB
$1199 256GB
$1399 512GB
$1599 1TB

What I don't expect to see is a starting price of $1500 for the 12 Pro Max 128GB.

In terms of metrics, we can’t just use other smart phone competitors to measure against Apples pricing tactics. I would look at the economy and how Apple is going to respond by pricing where they’re probably where they’re somewhat obtainable. Now, we know they probably won’t reduce the phone price of the more expensive ‘Pro-Max’ models, but we also realize that were in the middle of a economic crisis, where these types of purchases aren’t necessary From a consumer standpoint, and Apple has to somehow make it obtainable by not increasing the price too high, otherwise long-term it’s going to affect their net sales. It’s all about being strategic in the future for pricing maneuvers. Anyone that follows the ‘tech sector’, understands 2020 is going to be thee worst year ever that any manufacturer has ever seen due to the pandemic, and that’s a fact.

With our falling Australian dollar not looking forward to when I have to purchase the iPhone 12 6.7 inch.

Be looking at $2400+ then add a apple silicone case $65+ and apple care $270+

Looking at top end MacBook Pro 13-14 inch pricing. 😂😳🙈
