I’ve always had that issue that most iPhone 12 users experience where the brightness will automatically dim and the last 20% of the brightness slider doesn’t actually brighten the screen. I later learned that this is a defense mechanism on the phone, where it tends to do that in particular hot environments. However, ever since updating to 14.7, the issue has gotten much worse.

Now I have this weird bug where the screen dims and then comes back to normal brightness every 30 seconds or so. It is mainly noticeable on translucent menus (keyboard, Notification Center, safari search bar, etc…). I restarted my phone and issue goes away for a few hours but then comes back.
Has anyone else experienced this issue on iPhone 12 Pro 14.7?
I’ll be updating to 14.7.1 in a few minutes.

I have the 12 Pro Max and I have this issue. Apple actually recently replaced my original phone because of this issue but the new one is now doing the same. It’s so annoying and distracting. I feel stuck and like I can’t even take it to Apple anymore if even a replacement is going eventually have the same issue. Been using iPhone since 2009 and never had issues until now.

I have this too, but only if the phone is actually really warm (if I use it in the sun for example) or when I'm charging it with MagSafe (which also makes it very warm).
