My daughter has an Iphone 12 Pro. I have A Samsung Galaxy s10e, with caller ID blocking.

If I call her, the call goes thru, but it lets her know the ID is blocked.

If I prefix her number with *82, to unblock the caller ID, the call goes straight to voicemail, no ring.

Her husband also has an Iphone 12 Pro. When I call him with the *82 prefix, it rings normally, and shows my phone number.

Where should I begin troubleshooting this issue on her phone?

Hi jav6454,

That never occurred to me, but I'm glad you asked. I just found out that no, they are not. She has Verizon, so do I. He has a different provider but not sure who it is.

Do you think there's some proprietary Verizon OS setting or structure that could be responsible?

"If I prefix her number with *82, to unblock the caller ID, the call goes straight to voicemail, no ring."

Does her phone indicate a missed call when this happens? Have you tried calling other Verizon users with the *82 prefix, to see if they have the issue?

*82 is a network command, and if it's not working properly, that's most likely a network problem, not a phone problem. You're probably going to need to call Verizon CS.
