I just got the iPhone 12 pro like most and had a lot of issues with getting it activated but ATT was able to get it pushed through after saying there servers were flooded. However today I’ve noticed about 10 times or so my phone will just lose its data connection and everything and say no service in the top with zero bars. I usually have to toggle airplane mode to fix it also.

Are you using the sim card from your previous phone or a new one? I would advise getting a 5G sim card to replace yours.

I just used whatever came in the phone I guess. I dont know I didnt do anything with the SIM card. I just went through the activation process out of the box.
I talked with ATT about the issue and they didnt really have much insight on what to try.

Hey there!

There is what I would consider a "known issue" at this point, mainly affecting Verizon/ATT customers, on iPhone 12 models. What we are seeing is the random dropping of LTE into "No Service" in areas with adequate coverage. This generally seems to be happening while moving/driving, when the phone is being handed off from tower to tower/cell to cell, and it will sit in the No Service state for about a minute before eventually latching back onto LTE. Every once in a while, it won't latch back on to service, and will require an airplane mode toggle to start working.

Here is a Reddit thread I started over at r/Verizon with many people claiming the same issue. I'm guessing a carrier settings update will need to be pushed at this point. In the meantime, it would be helpful for people having issues to contact their respective carriers along with Apple to hopefully get them to recognize it and get the ball rolling.

Thread:

I actually called ATT and spent almost 2 hours dealing with tech support and the guy I was talking with finally phoned out to there back office engineering team and he informed of pretty much the same thing that there having issues with the iPhone 12's right now and that they were working with Verizon and Apple to figure out the cause and push either a carrier or IOS update to solve the problem. he said they had the same issue with the iPhone 8 release but I skipped that one lol.
I guess its just a waiting game at this point

Good to hear my educated guess was pretty solid. Based on what I'm seeing, it definitely sounds like a waiting game. I'm going through the whole troubleshooting thing with Verizon just to hopefully show them that none of the basic stuff fixes it, and hopefully have them acknowledge it as a true issue. Thanks for the info!

yeah I was having a couple issues where I could send non iPhone users text but couldn't receive them also and this data drop and after quite awhile they basically said they know of the data issue and were working as quick as possible to solve the problem. its super annoying I tell you but it does seem when driving its way worse. where im located they told me I bounce between towers also so thats probably why it happens sometimes at my house also.
