Hey there. I upgraded from the XS Max to the 12 Pro Max today.
Obviously the camera is pretty different on this compared to old phone, when I take a photo, there is absolutely no camera shutter sound, for the night mode shot, there is a faint click, after the photo is finished another faint click.

Is this something new, a setting I can change? (The volume is all the way up)
Was it on the iPhone 11's?

Just wondering.

Thanks!

** Oops, well I feel dumb.

Seems like the camera doesn't make a "shutter" sound when Live photos is enabled. I can't tell you the last time I used Live photos so this was kinda "new" to me. 🙄.

The shutter sound when taking a portrait photo is much louder than when I take regular photo.
No idea, not really a big deal.

Nvm I had the volume down but the ringer volume up. Wierd.
It's very odd. I played with the "Sound Haptics" settings.
No change, faint shutter sound in regular photo, loud in Portrait.

Even the "ding" when I hit record normal video is kind of faint, yet hitting "record" in Slo Mo or Time lapse is louder. I don't know if this was some new feature with new cameras in last years 11 Pros, or this model??

All the sounds were the same on my old XS Max.
