Hi everyone,
I have an iPhone 12 that was purchased unlocked in the USA that I am now using in South Africa and I have encountered an issue with 5G.
It seems as if my phone refuses to connect to a local service provider's 5G network (MTN) despite being capable of doing so. Any iPhone 12 that is purchased locally or even the dual sim models from Hong Kong seem to be fine and connects easily.
I am not exactly sure what to do as the network's side has 5G activated within the profile settings, so it seems to be from Apple's side?
Is it possible that Apple would only approve 5G on certain models for a network?
I'd appreciate any help.
