I bought last week an iPhone 12 Pro Max Graphite but it means it has redundancy already because I have been using Space gray for my
entire life, i exchanged it to silver because it fits all cases especially the customized cases. However, after less than a day, i noticed scratches on the side of the phone even i use the Leather Apple Case .

So, i was so frustrated and I could return it within 14 days, however, I have decided to make a solution. It had lot of scratches but i bought microfiber cloth and stainless steel cream, and after 4x of polishing, its now looking very new.

May I know if it will be like this for the entire life?

Yes, you should be able to keep fixing the micro scratches on the SILVER model only (it has no coating).

Many years ago when my first watch was the shiny stainless, I tried the polishing but felt like it was hard to not get the cream in crevices, etc. Therefore, I got the black watch to not have to deal with it.

If you don't mind using a cloth and polish, it should keep working for you as far as I know.

Thanks for your advise , so it means, I could keep it looking new as long as I polish it every now and then?

Yes, sometimes folks choose that particular color, so that they have the option to polish it.

Again, I find it tedious to be precise with the polish, but if you feel confident, this could work for you!

Cape Cod (or similar products) and polished (not brushed) metal is the winning team. I already use it for years. It removes micro scratches in seconds, can remove/reduce deeper scratches easily.
I had a ding in an iPhone 8 once - this is brushed. I just polished that corner completely. So I had a phone with a shiny mirror like corner. It looked kind of particular, but like it was meant that way. ?

Not sure why people keep taking their case off to see if it has scratches. I leave mine on. But when I sell my phones I use Cape Cod clothes to make them look like new.

Just to reiterate what’s already been said Put the iPhone in a case
It’s obvious the coating and materials are not meant to survive the elements of everyday use untarnished
Save yourself a headache

I went a different route... I don’t use a case, but I bought the clear skin from Slickwraps since they also provide the skin for the rims. I didn’t line the way that the skin looked on the back of the phone and removed it, but kept the rims. Slickwraps does have a horrible wait time until shipped, but the product is good.
