Is it worth to upgrade iPhone 12 Pro max to iPhone 13 pro max? Please explain why. I don't want to regret my decision.

It was to me. The promotion display, battery life, camera, better speakers and yes, smaller notch. It also helped that Apple gave me $640 for my previous iPhone.

I think the 13 series is amazing, but I am not sure, in a daily use application, whether people will notice any improvement over the 12 series to justify the expense.

I used to be a person who upgraded every year, but after the initial rush of getting the new phone, realized there wasn’t a lot of improvement over what I had, and what I use it for.

Every 2-3 years is my sweet spot.

Not critical of anyone who does upgrade every year, but for me, don’t see massive improvements in most years.

Otflyer already explained some of the major changes this year. Wether or not you deem this valuable is really your call. The topic has been explored on this board a few times, I suggest you read the previous discussions and maybe some initial reviews for a bigger picture.

Personally, I’ll wait at least another year.

Just returned mine. Don’t use a case but weight is more and bit thicker. Could tolerate 12pm but the 13PM was giving me problems. Need a death grip. Can only imagine what a case would add to it.

In terms of features you’ll notice battery, maybe promotion, and macro feature on camera. No other big differences with camera that I saw. Screen did look a tad more brighter and smoother.

Trying to decide if I want a regular iPhone 13 pro now. Or keep 12 max.

I think if you’re big into photography, having macro mode is nice. You’ll get better battery life but depends on if you need it for it to be valuable. Promotion is nice but wasn’t necessarily a game changer for me personally. If you have the spare change and love tech I say go for it. It’s like any new iPhone…..better than previous phones but it should be. How much better is subjective.

I did as my wife got my 6 month old 12 max and we sold her 2.5 year old XR, if not for doing that I would say not worth it, wait another year.

Pro motion, better battery life, better camera, 2nd gen 5G antenna, smaller notch, brighter display and of course Apple gave me $833[$785+tax] for my 12 PM. Hell Apple only gave me $500 for my 11 PM when I traded it in for the 12 PM.

Are the speakers really better than the 12PM? also, the notch is taller this time around cutting into full screen YT videos

There are some really good trade ins available in the US here in Canada not so much :( if you aee getting a high value trade in its worth it as the new screen and cameras and battery life make it a way better phone. I upgraded from the 11 pro max 64gb to the 13 pro max 256gb and I very happy.

I still may have upgraded if I had the 12 pro max but it would have been a tougher call with the lower grade in value here in Canada

Absolutely agree, for the price charged here in Canada the trade in values are way too low.

Not for me. I've had my iPhone 12 Pro Max since March of this year, and seven months later I am still in love with the device. Perfect size, perfect everything from the fit in my pocket to the feel in my hands.

The 13 Pro Max looks nice, but I also have an Air 4 and don't need the Pro Motion display (yes I've played around with it in the stores). For others, I could see the reason to upgrade, but for me its not. I like to have my iPhones for at least 5 years anyway so the 12 Pro Max will do me just fine (my wife went from a 7 to a 12 mini as well).

iPhone 12 Pro Max is still an amazing device today. If you wan Pro Motion along with the other upgrades and have the cash to go for then then do it. I think anyone who has an iPhone X or earlier, IMO, the 13 is very much worth jumping to.

Nope. Returned 13 max. Kept 12 max. Only things that stood out were macros and battery. But not enough. Also liked screen and less weight on 12 max better.

Carrier offers seem enticing but still not worth the 300-400 you’ll end up paying. Or the penalty you’ll incur when you inevitably want the iPhone 14 next year.

Even with the trade in you are still paying 3-400$ for the 13 and I don’t think it’s worth it. ProMotion, although nice, is overrated. I don’t care about macro photos and given that I work from home or always have my phone on CarPlay the extra battery doesn’t interest me.

I upgraded from the 12 PM to the 13PM and no regrets at all. I got it on the BestBuy promotion which is basically $975 off when you trade in the 12PM and even with this, I had a lot of questions whether I need it or not but having it for a couple of days now, everything is better on the 13 PM.

The 120hz screen, colors, True Tone, speed, speakers, cameras, connectivity, all of this is improved on the 13PM for me, it's definitely worth to upgrade.

Only reason I went from 11 PM to 13 PM was because of the faster display. It alone justifies the upgrade from any iPhone, IMO.
