iPhone 12 Pro Stainless steel band help

Hey guys was wondering if it was possible to lightly sand and polish out knicks in stainless steel band on iPhone 12 Pro phone fell out of my pocket when I sat down and nicked the stainless steel band I have the silver color so no pvd coating but was wondering if it was possible as I can feel the nicks when I rub my nail over them so it’s a bit deeper then surface scratches

I honestly don't know howver what I meant by a professional is someone with and experience with paint and polish
also if the dent is too deep polishing will mot be very helpful
