I haven't kept up with rumours and im still running an iPhone X, so what are the big differences between the 6.1 12 and the 6.1 12 Pro?

Or is there a comparison you can point me to?

you don’t even know how much yet, 64gb v 128gb base too.
True it’s still just guesses based on rumours. Put it this way, I know the Pro will be at least £200 more than the base level 12. For me the extra storage, and the other things I’ve mentioned aren’t tempting enough for me personally. I’d rather have a 64GB 12 at a sensible price.

200 quid ain’t much for the use they get over 2 years.

It is if you’re already paying £800 for a smartphone which isn’t exactly cheap. I’ve never spent more than £650 on a smartphone and begrudge being pushed towards the £1K mark. It’s not like the 12 isn’t going to be a very good phone in it’s own right.

That‘s about $1450AUD for a 64gb 12, gee I hope not, the 11 64gb is $1149 now

64 VS 128 is not really a thing it's just a marketing move from Apple to make "Pro" more credible.
Just compare expected price of both model for a same capacity.

According to the leak, the 256 non-pro should be cheaper that the base 128 Pro model so if you don't value heavily the smalls adjustements of the Pro model I should just go for non-Pro. :) But it depends of your needs !

Maybe the Pro will have more improvements than expected but this year, as or right now the "Pro" 6.1" seems closer than ever to non-pro model, so it's very logic the price gap is shrinking (OLED for the whole line up is a big thing).

Real question is do you value and would use (and not once a year) those "pro" features ?
And this is very personnal and depends on your needs.

The only thing to avoid is to buy a "Pro" phone for irrational reasons (I like the color, it's Pro so it's for me, I want to show off with 3 sensors look, etc.).
Just buy the appropiate device for yourself given what you would do with it ! Both will be insane device and IMO the Pro model is worth buying if you are thinking using telephoto (not once a year), it's good device for photo enthusiats and influencers but I think that it is a bit overkill for the mainstream audience.

I honestly thing there is no wrong choice between the two once you have truly try to guess what you would do with your new phone : true storage need, do you in real life use a lot telephoto etc etc.

I’m just going off the rumour of $799 which usually translates across as the same in Pound Sterling. It’s quite a hike when the iPhone 11 was £729. I was expecting either the same price or a reduction this year considering global spending is down and I would imagine new phone sales are likely to be classified as purchases that are not necessary this year. I’m happy to stretch to £799 if that’s what the price is, but I don’t ever plan on paying £1k+ for a smartphone. When you consider an iPad Air is half that, you realise just how expensive phones have got. I can afford it, I just don’t agree with pricing to commit.

Why create a thread asking for a rumour comparison for the differences between 2 phone that will officially be announced in under 15 hours from your original post time?
Surely you could just wait for Apple’s official comparison tool after the announcement

Honestly, I haven’t kept up with the rumours due to having a baby 8 months ago and having been in the longest lockdown anywhere in the globe, I’ve had other priorities, and was hoping to get an idea of what the differences are from the brains trust here rather than sifting through the news tomorrow.
Generally the chatter here is more direct and objective than any spin the Apple website will put on it.

My question is whether both the Pro and the Pro Max have 5G mmWave. I live in an urban area and at least two networks offer mmWave.
