I previously owned an iPhone 12 mini and have this issue as well on my iPhone 13 mini noted below.

Well, it’s happening randomly on my 13 mini as well. I inserted the usb-c to lightning cable to the lightning port and it did not recognize the charging.

Just after purchasing the phone, I had never had this problem. But during the past months or so, started to happen randomly.

Cable looks good.

Then I tried inserting it again and now it’s charging. Sometimes I just need to insert 5 times just to get the iPhone to detect the charging.

Is this perhaps that the lightning port gets filled with lint as the phone is in my Jean pocket most of the time?

Highly unlikely with two different phones so while your cable may look good it could be that or the charger itself having the issue. Trying using different chargers and cables.

Since my iPhone 13 mini, I’m now using a different charger (usb-c to lightning).
When I had my iPhone 12 mini, I used a usb-a type charger.

Im guessing it’s all that lint from my Jean pocket.

I would use a toothpick to clean the charging port but that would be very risky to do.

Can this be done using compressed air?

You can use compressed air if you like, but you said you're using a new usb-c to lighting cable; however, did you try a different brick or power adapter?

If the cable doesn't snap in firmly all the way (it shouldn't wiggle sideways when plugged in), you have lint in the port. You can safely use any plastic tool that can fit in there, Lightning ports are very durable. I advise against using a toothpick, because it can break inside while you are trying to clean the port and make the problem worse.

@iphonefreak450 do you have a computer with a usb-c port or any USB a to lightning cables? does the same problem occur with the lightning to usb-c cable plugged into the computer or usb-a to lightning cable?

over the years we have accumulated a ton of usb-a wall wart plugs—Apple, belkin, etc. and have found that when we have charging problems it is the often the cables that are the problem. Have been able to charge my 13 mini with all of the power adapters and even the usb plugs on my alarm clocks.
