I’m also curious about this. I love taking night sky pics. I don’t have a tripod. I either try my not so steady hand or lean it on something on my rail and use the watch as a remote shutter. I’m sure with more light being let in, it will take better pics and then edit after. Here’s an example of Orion (According to this story, the iPhone 13 Pro has some improvements to night mode when used with a tripod, taking three ten second exposures for improved astrophotography. I haven't seen this referenced elsewhere and I'm wondering how true it is 🤔 Any thoughts welcome
Good stuff! I have managed to capture similar images with my current iPhone. I hope the story I linked to does prove to be true, but so far anyway, I haven't found any confirmation elsewhereI’m also curious about this. I love taking night sky pics. I don’t have a tripod. Here’s an example of Sagittarius I took. Some turn out better than others.
That’s what I meant. Ugh. Thanks!I hate to tell you, that is Orion, the Hunter, not Sagittarius. Still, very nice.
Here's a pic I took of Comet NEOWISE in July 2020, in an urban environment.
in the article of The Sun, they mention that astrophotography is possible due to the larger sensor.
And iPhone 13 and 13 Pro share exactly same sensor this year.
I hope I will test it on my 13
Well, that was embarassing. I exported at 200 pixels instead of 2000. Here's the full size. Not amazing, but still I was impressed.Where is the comet 🧐 ?
Perhaps it's more of some tweaking to night mode, rather than advertising a full blown feature. Astrophotography is tough. My comet was with a tripod + Night Mode.In the keynote, there was one tiny throwaway line about wider bracketing in Night Mode when it senses you're mounted on a tripod. The mention had the night sky image we all saw behind it. It wasn't a big mention

The 2 Pro Versions have a sensor with bigger pixels than the 2 "normal" versions. And iPhone 13 and 13 Pro share exactly same sensor this year.
Hmmm 🤔 Perhaps that means 3 x 10?View attachment 1837256
according to the info on the bottom right , only 10s exposure was used to take this photo, thats pretty impressive if the 30s option is still there
yeah, thats more likely it, if the photo could get any better im sure theyd show itHmmm 🤔 Perhaps that means 3 x 10?
Of course that’s not just the photo. It’s an enhanced photo using LR or something. I never get mine that good and I live in the sticks. I get great views of the night sky when its clear out.View attachment 1837256
