iPhone 13 Pro Max on AT&T. This issue has been ongoing and I've contacted AT&T twice and they say they do something on the backend, but not specifically what.

The problem is my iPhone doesn't ring most of the time. If I have my phone sitting next to me, I can see the incoming call banner at the top but within a second it goes to "Call Ended". I've been able to replicate this by dialing my AT&T iPhone from my T-Mobile Android phone and sometimes it doesn't even show the incoming call banner -- it just goes straight to VM.

I've tried with and without WIFI. I've changed Cellular from Auto 5G to LTE. I've removed the AT&T Call Protect app from the phone. I don't think it is a setting (like Focus, etc.) because some calls come through. It's very random but very frequent.

I just tried turning off the phone then back on and calling my phone and the call DID come through.

I've seen other threads here from people with the exact same issue, but the posts die out without a solution.

Anyone have any ideas?

It seems to be an unresolved problem with some AT&T customers. I use AT&T & calls work normally.

Could a SIM card cause this type of behavior?
Well, I wouldn't be sure, but I was trying to ascertain if the issue is either with AT&T or with the phone itself. That's cause if you placed the SIM in another phone and it rang normally, then the issue would be the iPhone. If the same issue presented, then you can do a more in depth troubleshooting with AT&T engineering which can include replacing your SIM card.

I am just thinking simple. Do you have a Focus Mode active? :)
Yeah, double-checked those settings, plus it's very random, not fitting any time frame. One call will come in normally, and the next is missed.
