I just allowed my new phone to do the small iOS 15 update (not sure what version, phone just says 15 right now). Face ID stopped working and when I tried to reset the phone won't scan my face, just keeps telling me to move it higher or lower. Is this a known issue with the new update? Restart did nothing.

I'd try to restore it using iTunes, that's the first thing Apple will try so you might as well get it out of the way. If that doesn't straighten it out, you need to contact Apple or if possible go to a store and have them look it over

Were you able to fix it? I updated three days ago and now I'm having the same issue on iPhone 13 pro

I went through the apple support process and came around to "you need to come in for a repair consult". I asked about a restore per the above advice and the Apple rep said I could try it, but I haven't had the time to deal with that yet. I am assuming also that a software fix will eventually address the issue. If you have the time to do the restore, let me know if it works.

I fixed it wiping all across the notch. I think there was dust or something that was blocking the sensor
