Hey everyone, I’m debating whether I should get the 13 pro max or 14 pro max. I live abroad and here the difference beetween a brand new 256GB 13PM and 14PM is roughly $330. Is the 14PM really worth that much more with the improved cameras (48mp, action mode, etc), dynamic island, always on display, new front camera, etc. I just need your honest opinion/ wanna know which would you get with that price difference if you were in my situation. I’m an amateur photographer, 5G is very unreliable in my country and satellite connectivity is useless and isn’t coming here anytime soon. Also, I plan to use it for about 1-2 years.

Get the 14 Pro Max especially if you get the sim tray where you live. The 13s will start to look old as Dynamic Island gets used more and seen everywhere next year. The traditional notch will scream old soon - if that matters to you.

14 Plus is a business/corporate phone to me and Apple really screwed up in marketing these phones.

Honestly I would say you need to try them both side by side if it’s possible where you are. If price is a big issue then get 13 Pro Max, if not then get 14 Pro Max.

They do not differ a lot but the Dynamic Island on the 14 Pro Max does set it apart quite well as the future of what upcoming iPhones will look like, if that matters to you, get the 14 PM.

I don't think this will ever be the case, with the island being no more than an annoying gimmick (it annoys me just to have it playing music and showing album art, and I find it way more distracting that the notch ever was). Eventually the island will disappear, and both will look old.

14PM is more future proofed. Don’t listen to anybody telling you to save money and get the 13PM. Dynamic Island, post iOS 16.1, will just continue to get better. Apple doesn’t ditch a design language in 1-2 years. Expect 4-5 years. You’re getting the A16, updated qualcomm modem, updated Bluetooth, updated cameras, satellite 🛰 communication, always on display etc etc. Again, the people who tell you to just get a 13PM are just trying to justify their mistake

If you don’t upgrade all the time and don’t mind spending the money, treat yourself to the 14 Pro. If you’ll likely only keep the phone a year or two, picking up a 13 Pro at a good deal is a smart purchase you’ll be happy with. Great device either way, you can’t go wrong!

We all have the same opportunities to buy the phone we want and there is not an ounce of regret for me getting a 13 PM. It’ll serve me well for the next 2 years.

Get the 14PM. The other phones will soon look like the 8 and 8 Plus when they were released at the same time as the X. Old.

I keep forgetting that some of you are not local here in the United States. The delta in price between the 13 promax and 14 promax are different between where you live and where I live. I just went to Verizon‘s website and they’re selling the 13 promax brand new for $999. The 14 promax is $1099. 100$ difference. Maybe we should’ve asked the OP where he lived first to give a better recommendation.

In any case if I’m spending close to 1k for a phone I don’t buy used or refurbished. I buy new when we’re talking those prices. So in this case a new retail 14 pro max trumps a new retail 13 pro max. Hands down. End of story.

There’s a £250 difference here so the 13PM makes a lot of sense, especially as it’s the same price as the new 14 Plus too. At £1199, the 14PM just isn’t competitive for many.

I would get the 14PM and just keep it an extra year over however long you intended to keep the 13PM, but it depends on your financial situation.

New modem is one of the most underrated new features I'm looking forward to with my 14Pro, tests I've seen so far look positive for both 4g and 5g speeds.

I still have my 13 pro max and am keeping it till next year, but if I didn't I would get the 14 max, if you keep it for 2 years what's $330? 2/3 of a coffee per week here lol.
Even though the 13 max is a good phone it's a year old now and I wouldn't buy a brand new one.

14 pro max gets my vote, the screen is noticeably brighter outside, better heat dissipation, better cameras front and back and I like the dynamic island on mine. My wife took over my 13 pro max, easy excuse for me to get a new one ;)

do you have proof? or any link to tests done between the 2?
nothing changed in last few iPhones from my owning/testing
My 13 pro max definitely had a stronger signal then my 12 pro max. That was made very clear when we were camping with very little signal and the 12 could barely connect or even load and email and my 13 pro max could stream full hd shows.

And there is other channels that have gone out and tested the 14 pro max to the 13 pro max and also came out with better and stronger results because of the better modem. So feel free to believe as you wish, but ive had the 12, 13 and 14 pro max now, there are improvements

I am asking 14 v 13 not 12, where are these channels?

I don't have the 14 max but there has been 0 improvement since IP8, I've had them all lol.
Our biggest Telco give blue ticks to best phones in rural areas, IP8 was last iPhone to get it, 6S and 4S before.
They do thorough testing.
14 has no blue tick so would be no different.

0 = iPhones.
