Hi all,

I have no idea if this is the right place to ask but I've had my 13 pro for not even a month and the paint on the right side of the phone is chipping? (looks like dots) I work an office job so the phone would have been exposed to anything and it hasnt had any drops to cause damage either. I've tried to get some pics of it as best as I could
Just curious if anyone else has had this too and what you did about it.

Thanks

now i see it

It’s not paint. It’s microscopically thin anodizing that’s chipping off. Some people start seeing it chip off around the speaker holes.

Thanks for the reply

I see I see just annoying that it’s not even a month old and it’s already happening but first world problems I guess ?

Did you use any solution or anything to clean your phone prior to that?

Nothing besides a quick wipe with a microfiber cloth when I first saw it wondering what the marks were
since it’s fairly new, I reckon it’s something defective with the coating. Take it to Apple and get them replaced. Even better if you’re still within 14 days return period, so you can just return them NQA and get another one.

I’ve been cleaning mine with isopropyl alcohol that I just spray directly on the phone, and then wipe. Now I think about it maybe I should stop this practice, even though no paint chipping yet and I’ve been having the phone since february ish.

Or maybe it’s something with the cloth. After you get the phone replaced, try use another cloth to wipe the phone.
