I just switched from a XS Max to the 13 Pro. I noticed when taking pictures, as soon as you take the picture and go to open it, it takes a second or 2 to focus it before it appears. Is this normal? never happened on my past iphones.

you are prob taking the photo with "Live" on. search what live photos are and turn it off then try again

Yes, it’s normal. Processing is still going on.
