I did some google researches and look like camera update would be a major selling point. Is that true?

Every year they go on and on about how great the new camera in the new iPhone is. The iPhone 13 won't be any different.
As to whether the improvement to the camera system is significant- well that depends on what phone the user is upgrading from and how persnickety the user is about the camera.
It's a pretty sure bet though that the 13 camera won't blow the doors off the 12.
Gotta always remember that  is in to the iPhone for the long run - forever. They've got to dole out improvements a little bit at a time year after year so that they've always got something better in the pipeline. So even if they could make the camera system incredible right now — they wouldn't give it all away at once. They'd string along the improvements for as long as possible so as to not run out of upgrades for the future.

I agree. It is a spec bump every year. Depending on your current phone, you may be looking at several specs at once.

We don’t know yet

apple has kept camera functions similar generation to generation but used new ISP to make performance better

case in point, iPhone 8 vs SE 2020
Or googles pixel phones using the same camera for several generations but improving picture quality year to year

have to wait for physical hardware in this day and age, even if we know specs

Significant low light upgrade to the UW lens this year. 2022 will have more significant upgrades to the regular lens. 2020-2021 focused on 5G.

Rumours so far indicate it’s the ultra wide lens getting an upgrade in 2021. Early rumours indicate a larger megapixel bump for the main camera in 2022. 2021 probably won’t be worth the upgrade for the camera unless you use the ultra wide a lot but we will have to see when it’s announced.

I will buy iphone 12 or 13 for my wife and camera will be the main concern.

I don’t expect there will be many changes. As mentioned it’s rumoured that the ultra wide lens will see an improvement.

If you really want to see a substantial difference in your photography, get a good dedicated camera.

Wishful thinking maybe?
Doesn't seem like you want to consider anyone else's comments lol

I'm also looking to upgrade from the 11 Pro Max to the 13 Pro Max this year so Im also hoping for a larger camera upgrade, but personally don't think we will see that much.
Wife has a 7+ at the moment, so only reason I'm upgrading mine is so I can give her my current 11 Pro Max - otherwise i would have held off another year TBH.....

I’ve gotten my mom a calendar of our family dogs every year since I got my original iPhone 3G.

I have upgraded basically every year. Every year you can see in the calendars a clear improvement in the quality.

I have saw youtuber latest insider report and bigger sensor size is confirmed

He is not an English speaker

So then if you don’t want to tell us more about this person tell us some specifics about the camera if that guy is so sure. What lenses, what focal lengths, what exact sensor size is he forecasting?

Yes, the camera will most likely be better. But nobody knows by how much until it’s announced/released and/or the reviewers are able to test it out. If it’s a concern of yours, wait. If you need a phone now, then buy now. There’s always something better releasing in the future.

That’s 13 minutes of prime speculation with no facts other than someone mentioning a slightly bigger camera bump to the case manufacturers most likely. Confirmed is nothing.

Many people work in factory for Apple and not hard to buy information when their salary is like 400 dollars per month. The same youtube channel predictions came true most of the time especially there is plastic mod like this one.

But it’s not different ore more confirmed info what was already on MR frontage weeks ago.

camera gets better like the 12 years before

The youtuber clearly said sensor will be bigger. He is apple insider news master not me.

Which clearly was what was already expected even here on Macrumors. Nothing new was added. And nothing confirmed.

Expected to have bigger sensors on the pro line so will be improvements in low light. Ultra wide will be the biggest improvement from all reports.

sadly no real zoom improvements until likely 2022-2023.
