What are your first impressions of your iPhone 14? Specify model.

I was looking for a thread for first impressions to go and didn't find one.

Best screen on a phone I've ever seen. Very uniform and super bright. Will burn your retinas out.
Haha, even compared to the 13 pro, the brightness makes the screen seem that much nicer. And simultaneously make you want to reach for sunglasses.

The always-on display is fine, TBD on battery life but I am not a psycho about that.

The pill is really neat. I haven't explored enough to get the full experience, but even just taking calls and multi-tasking, seeing that the call is highlighted above and has a sound graph is so sleek.

14 Pro....

HATE, HATE, HATE the uber large ugly camera. Freaking ridiculous.
I honestly didn't even notice until I read your message and turned the phone around. It's slightly bigger, but I wouldn't care if the lens took up half the phone, if it meant better photos. At a certain point, the sensors and glass has to be bigger to capture more information.

It's a phone. It's faster, and I'm sure the battery lasts longer than my last one. That's about all I've got.

Reactions: that be me
14PM.

Absolutely loving the screen; promotion makes it feel so slick. The ‘island’ is taking a bit of adjustment - felt quite intrusive on day one but not really noticing it as much today. The animations and use for notifications/activities is really very cool so kudos to the software engineering team on that.

I like the deep purple more than I expected, but still prefer the pacific blue on my 12PM - my favourite colour Apple has done so far.

I am finding a fair bit of typing lag which may or may not be due to the keyboard haptics. Was the same on my 12PM when enabled on the iOS 16 beta. Will have to turn off to see if it is the haptics or something else.

Cameras seem fine, but I haven’t really tested as I have a Nikon Z6II for serious photo taking and haven’t been anywhere for some solid testing.

Probably the thing that’s stood out most to be so far is the speaker. It’s considerably louder and clearer than my 12PM, which makes a huge difference when using Duolingo to learn Vietnamese.
