Hey guys,

I used the direct transfer option to clone my iphone 13 pro max on to my iphone 14 pro max. It took 2 hours and after that my 14 got bricked. No reaction to hard reboot. Saw this happening to someone else on this forum, but he somehow managed to get it back on, just don't know how. Anyone else getting this?

Also, just wanted to add another report of this so the online chatter will force Apple to react faster.

Not sure if it happened to me. After the side by side transfer, my ip14 pro max screen turned black.
Had to do a hard reboot to get it back on.

Same happened to me. iPhone 14 Pro
Did a direct transfer from my 12 Pro and it got stuck in the end. 12 Pro reported 9 minutes left but was not doing anything. Did not react to touch or any button. Whatever I tried.

Only force restart did work.
Seems like the 14 Pro tried to do an update in the end.
At least that is what it did when it came back after force restarting.

So to get it back I had to do the force restart:
Volume Up
Volume Down
hold Power Button

Good luck to everyone setting up their new phone.

Same thing happened to me! Did the transfer from an iPhone 11 to a 14 pro and the screen on the 14 pro was black.

When I touched the screen, you could feel the haptics (as if it was on the passcode screen).

I performed a rest (up, down, power) and it came back on. It did say it was locked for a minute though!

I had the same issue going from 12 Pro to 14 Pro using Quick Start. I had to do a soft reset and then the 14 Pro finished the transfer process without issue.

We had the same issue. The shiny new iPhone 14 Pro Max is now a brick after trying to transfer data from our old iPhone. It is now a financial ticking clock as the return period and apple care clock is ticking down. Will have to take time off work and pay for train ticket into the Apple Shop to return or repair.
The volume up, volume down, power button reset trick didn't work by the way.

Very disappointed in Apple. We waited years to do this upgrade.

We bought it for postal delivery. Lesson learned is to only buy in shop and make sure everything is working before leaving.

I suspect this is poor quality assurance on Apple's data transfer from old iPhone software. They should not release this until they've cleaned out whatever bug is in there as the consequence is a bricked phone and thousands of dollars of customer money.
