I have had lightening port issues on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I have tried using different cables and even taken off the case to see if that was causing the issue when charging, but no luck. Finally gave up and made a genius appointment for tmw.
I had the same issue, with my first phone and then second with the replacement…

I ended up asking for another replacement and the problem is gone so it must be a batch of phones with this defect

I'd take it to the genius bar. Looks like a candidate for replacement.
I just took my 14 Pro Max in today but we couldn't replicate the issue using their apple cable & charger. They ran a battery of tests and they all came back clean. It leads me to believe that apple has tweaked the 14 in some way as to wean people off non apple chargers/cables and have them come back and purchase their overpriced and weaker chargers & cables. I have a 12 Pro Max for work that I charge at work using their ******** 20w charger and a non apple corded cable work provided and have NO issues charging. But as soon as I plug my 14 Pro Max the issues start.

I had that issue a week ago on my 14 Pro Max, so I took it into Apple and they replaced the phone. The charging port failed the diagnostic test. The only problem I ran into after that was popping into a Verizon store on a busy Sunday afternoon and having the serial number changed and activating eSim again. An hour later and I was back in business.

Anyone else having issues with charging the 14promax - I plug the cable in and it starts to charge, but then shortly after it stops, unplug replug nothing, turn cable and it starts again. This isn't just one one cable either, it's happening on multiple cables. Just wanted to know if it was a known issue. It's driving me mad.
Cheers
Definitely not a bad cable. I have multiple cables/chargers i use around my house and office, and the 14 Pro Max disconnects and reconnects on all of them. All are Anker 3rd party USC-C to Lightening cables that worked perfectly fine with my 12 Pro Max. My work iPhone is a 12 Pro and that phone doesn't have any issues connecting to the same cables/chargers used with the 14 Pro Max.

I decided to test my theory that Apple intentionally made minor changes to the 14 Pro line ports so that they only work without a hitch on apple cables. I used an older USB-A to lightening cable and it worked without a hitch!

I even made apple send me a new 14 Pro Max replacement thinking that would solve my issue...no dice! Same issues. This is total BS on Apple's part

I have this issue on my 14 Pro: it charges all right if it's perfectly still, but if I pick it up or even touch it slightly it starts doing the on/off/on/off/on/off dance seen in the video above.

I sure hope the usb-c on the 15 Pro will be the end of this kind of issues.
