So I got my 14 PM on launch day, and I found a cosmetic defect so I returned it and I couldn't exchange because my local Apple store did not have any in stock. I bought one today and it had a scratch on the stainless steel frame. I really hope Apple isn't skipping quality control. I paid over a thousand for this phone and I feel like I should receive a near flawless device. I understand this is a mass produced device, but it should still be going through quality control. Anyway I would love to know if any of you guys had cosmetic issues out of the box. I am big Apple fan, but lately their quality is starting to decline.

This sucks because I’ve experienced this with the 11 Pro & 12 Pro when they came out. No issues with the 13 Pro tho.

I guess it depends on the level of defect. Once used every stainless frame will be scratched. How deep or bad was the scratch?

Also Apple makes millions of these phones every month. Do you expect them to hand inspect every single unit? I think a minor imperfection is fine on a new unit bc the minute you start using it it will pick up many more.

Hey, I think I will exchange it one more time and see how things go. I completely agree it is hard to quality check millions of phones, however, some quality control is needed especially considering the premium prices of these devices. But yeah I will give it another shot hopefully the next one if perfect. If not, I will return it.
