Twice in the last month both on 16.2 and 16.3 I went to take my phone off the wireless charger in the am and it was completely frozen off. I did the volume up/down and held the side power button for 15 secs and got the apple logo and it booted fine. I did have the issue where the phone would reboot at times when being charged but that was fixed with an update months ago. This has only happened twice and only when on the Belkin Mag safe charger. It did backup at 12:15 am and I though I read somewhere that the backing up may cause this issue. Anyone else exp this? Annoying when you miss an alarm.

Thanks

Same just happened to me. Running 16.3 on my 14 Pro Max. Went to bed and put my phone on the Belkin 3-in-1 MagSafe charger. Dead and unresponsive this morning. Had to force restart it and seems fine. Will continue to monitor and if continues have Apple run diagnostics.

Just happened to my wife's 14 pro max connected to the Apple MagSafe charger with Apple 20 watt usb-c power adapter. Completely dead and unresponsive. Did the volume up/down button then held the side power button in until Apple logo appeared. Battery only charged to 80%. Wonder if the problem is with Apple's optimized battery charging???

As all of you seem to have the same issue, I would suggest charging with out the wireless chargers to see if the issue reappears. If it continued I would then try reinstalling the ios.

I don't have this issue when I charge my 14 pro max on MagSafe. At least as of yet *Knock on Wood* I do use the Anker 3-in-1 cube.

I’ll wait to see what 16.3.1 does first. It’s only happened twice and I’m too lazy to have to re enter all my passwords etc if I restore.
