I have ensured that SMS, MMS and Group Messaging are enabled. Also have reset network connections, there are no issues with blocked numbers, have plenty of storage available, and have rebooted the iPhone. New phone and carrier is Verizon.

I’m surprised I have any hair left. Any help would be appreciated.

This sounds like a carrier issue. I would go to the Verizon store if you’re in the USA.

Can you send SMS?

When did the problem start and was SMS working before?

You might also be able to call them and have it sorted, if you're not near a store.

Thanks for the help. The phone is new and the SMS problem has existed since day one. Yes, we can send SMS, but can’t receive.

I think I had an issue with this years ago on a non-smartphone and the carrier issued some sort of reset to clear it up on their side.

I spent a bit over an hour at a Verizon store and the problem is still not fixed. The help was diligent and determined, along with tech support on the phone. All kinds of things were tried. Verizon admits that it is a problem on its network. It was kicked upstairs for further action. I’m hoping to get relief tomorrow.

I have the same problem with my iPhone 14 pro. I am using Spectrum and the problem has been expedited after a week of talking with them. I was thinking of switching to verison but sounds like it’s a problem with verison too.

I have an iPhone 14 Pro and it works perfectly and the carrier is Verizon. The problem we are having is with my wife’s 14 Pro Max. Good luck.

Last person I spoke with at Spectrum said that he is getting a number of calls with the same problem. He did not say if it was the IPhone 14, pro, or pro max. Frankly, I am sick of Apple saying it is a carrier problem and spectrum saying it is an Apple problem And not being willing to work together and fix it.

Spoke with spectrum and the tech fixed the problem. Spectrum uses Verison network and there is a premium charge for 5 digit verification codes. There is a toggle that blocks the charge per the agreement between spectrum and verison not to charge for the service. Sometimes the setting blocks the charge and the service instead of only the charge. The tech reset it and the problem was fixed, getting texts from android users and verification codes.

We went to a Verizon store again, to try to get this problem fixed, and it has been fixed! I don’t know what they did. After the problem was fixed several voice mails from over a month ago just showed up.

Everything seems to be working fine, but, honestly, the 14 Pro Max has been a disappointment. My wife uses a 4 digit passcode, but about a month ago her phone just decided, on its own, to change the passcode to 6 digits and never told her what the new code was. Fortunately, I was able to fix the problem and set up a new 6 digit passcode.

When the iPhone 15 Pro Max comes out I am going to trade in her 14 Pro Max for a 15 Pro Max. My 14 Pro has been great, with no problems.
