It should be 480Hz, or higher.
I got my 14 pro max today. The pwm was present at 100% brightness as well. Can’t measure the frequency thought..Unfortunately after 15-20 mins with the device, terrible eye fatigue & nasea same like 13 pro max (i returned that last year) . But that is my case so maybe different for others… stuck with iphone 8 plus .. no way out

From what I’ve seen in a video it is at 480hz, the regular 14 is at 1040hz and pro at 880hz. I’m going to stop by the apple store later to literally stare at the screen for about an hour and see what happens lol

My experience has been that the store creates a misleading testing environment. Full brightness on screen and from above in the lights. It’s an ideal place to view the phone. Real life doesn’t always track accordingly.

But do let us know if you noticed a difference. :)

OLED iPhone’s use pulse-width modulation, or PWM, to modulate brightness. This essentially involves flickering the display at a certain frequency, typically between 60Hz and 480Hz, whereas LCD iPhone’s including iPhone SE have been flicker-free.

Unfortunately, some users including myself are perceptible to the PWM implementation and experience tension headaches and migraines from the constant flickering that render these devices unusable and even detrimental to the overall health of those that are sensitive to it.

The iPhone 14 works great, no eye strain or headaches or discomfort. Been using it for about 2 hrs no problem. I was told the 1080hz was wrong but my eyes say they are wrong lol

What models have you had problems with in the past out of curiosity?

None of the newer non-OLED's work for you? Like the Xr or 11 or SE line?

I have the 14 pro that I've been using for 3 days now. Upgraded from 11 that I held onto for so long when I found out about my eye sensitivity when I had the iphone X. The first day wasn't bad until I was using my phone in bed in the dark watching tiktoks for hours. Naturally, the next day I started having eye-strain and small headaches. So I played around with the brightness turned up to 100% and reduce white point to 79%. This seemed to help me only a little. When I switched to dark mode that made a significant difference. Turned all my other social media apps to dark mode also. So I will hold onto it until iphone SE 2023 drops because I just can't go back to iphone 11 with the outdated camera and display. The 14 pro is so beautiful. However, I will also be decreasing gameplay on my phone and use my ipad 4 air instead that has an lcd screen

I had issues with my iPhone X . Then had a 12 pro with no issues . Got a 14 pro max that didn’t bother my eyes at all but the camera was messed up . Now on a different 14 pro max that bothers my eyes . Don’t want to go through the hassle of another return . Sucks

I have the same thing happen to me. Everything today seems to be about making the screens as bright as possible with the highest contrast ratio.
This severely affects my eyes and I spend just a few seconds at a time on the new phones.
At the same time I can stay in front of my old 30" HP LCD monitor all day long and not fee a thing.
Sucks that companies get sucked into these meaningless races.

iphone 14 notebook test reveals that pwm freq is 60hz, i highly doubt it , even though i see the flicker in iphone 14 but 60hz is way too less

On the iPhone 14 the flicker is noticeable. The iPhone 14 plus is very bad. The iPhone 14 Pro looks good to me.

I went to the Apple Store and watched a movie on the iPhone 14 pro for like 12-14 min long. I turned down the brightness to like 10%. I didn't feel anything. So i'm going to buy the 14 pro, I hope it will stay like that :)

With the iPhone 12 i get immediately headeche. Also iPhone 13 pro max with 10% brightness i feel eye strain and a headache after 10 min.
