I'm out of warranty and looking for screen replacement options, I didn't want to go to Apple and spend almost $400, I am looking to upgrade to the 17 next year

I did some research and came across these 2

Does anyone have any experience with them or recommend another good quality screen? A friend of mine got one replaced at a local repair shop, but the screen doesn't look like it's 120 Hz, and the color is way off. He paid about 280 total for the replacement.

I've only replaced a couple of screens on Apple devices. An iPhone 5 and iPad 4th gen. Both displays came from ifixit and they performed well until sold. I would recommend a screen from them but it seems more expensive than the screen replacements you listed.

I don’t have personal experience with these, but I’ve had friends that used similar ones and they said it’s not the same as the original. I suspect no aftermarket screen is going to be the same quality as the original one from Apple. You pay for what you get but they’re fine if you just want the phone to work and are on a tight budget.

I always go to Apple for screen replacement, but I keep AppleCare on my iPhone so it doesn’t cost that much. I can see where paying $400 would be bothersome.

I'm fine with not having 100% Apple screen quality even 90% is good enough for me as I'll be upgrading in less than a year

You could just keep using the phone and then sell it as is when the 17 becomes available. If you get a third party replacement display it will identify as a non-genuine part in settings and most likely effect the selling/trade-in value

I can't use the phone, the display is all black with the green light going across the top so I need a screen lol

I'm not sure how much the value will be affected but paying almost 400 for an OEM screen versus 150 for a third-party screen that I linked, I feel like I'll either break even or it won't be that much of a decrease
