The iPhone 14 Pro Max is a great looking device and the dynamic island is a fantastic add. However all that aside iOS 16 on an iPhone 14 (I have the pro max edition) is the first phone release I’ve noticed many issues. I do wonder if the software was rushed to production.

In my experience, this is the worst a public release (16.0) or a beta (16.1) has been… but at leas major features still work.

Just wanted to start a thread to talk about the iPhone 14 software bugs and workarounds to help - while we await a few updates in the next coming weeks.

I had some issues with 16.0 and upgraded to the latest beta (16.1) where those issues were resolved but replaced by others.

So you’re using 16.1 I assume? I mean, give it a few more releases before rushing to judgement. 16.0.1 is rock solid for myself and my wife so far.

You seem to be talking about a Phone 14 in a Pro Max thread - I think, but your post is so badly worded I don’t really know. You talk about the phone being ‘riddled’ with issues, but talk about one issue which has affected you. The rest seems to be things you’ve read about.

Why don’t you try again with a post which clearly identifies your phone and sets out the issues you have had?

Personally, if you think your phone is that bad, just return it. Mine is a bit underwhelming so it might be going back.

I agree, this seems to be the least stable dot zero ios release that i have experienced in the past 10 years. Hopefully 16.1 will address most issues and be released soon.

16.0.1 has been solid for me… literally noticed no issues so I wouldn’t say it’s “riddled” at all.

Get off the beta and use the software that’s at least signed off by Apple.

I have never had a launch day iPhone have so many issues. After my transfer my iPhone appeared to be bricked and only the toggle the volume and power on eventually worked. Interesting to see a page one article stating that it was widespread after the fact. I've noticed other issues that seem quite odd. I ran all the betas of iOS 16 on my iPhone 12 Pro Max for months with very little issue. These problems seem to be related to the iPhone 14 Pro Max (14 / 14 Pro) as hardware? / software? related bugs specific to the new devices. My 12 PM was on the official public release for 4 days with no issues.

I just find it interesting that so many are reporting widespread issues. Also, that others are not. It’s a very interesting Apple release for sure.

16.1 beta has lots of issues, I even notice that my iphone 13 mini is draining real bad. I mean it was not like this on 16.0 beta. I think 16.1 beta is broken. I hope apple will fix that shortly.

Yeah, I feel the same way. Usually public betas have a glitch or 2 but not a lot of major issues. In my experience, the beta’s since 14 have been super solid. The occasional major bug but never a series of major bugs that are being reported. It’s very curious for sure…

That being said, I still love my phone and I do enjoy ios16. Just exploring the things that lead to where we are today.
