My iPhone 15 Camera app is consuming all my RAM and causing app reloads even if I only open it and take one photo. When I go back into any app in the app switcher the app has to reload as it’s been removed from RAM.

Is this normal with the A16 chip?

It’s been like this since I got it on launch day and it’s currently on iOS 17.3.1.

Would there be a camera setting I could turn off to see if that resolves it?

My suspicion is the image processing is consuming all the RAM after a picture is taken.

Current camera settings are High Efficiency, 24MP, Portraits in Photo Mode enabled, Prioritise Faster Shooting enabled.

Same, did not had this is iPhone 14. Idk, maybe processing 48 mpx takes more ram.
I thought it was just me because I couldn’t find any threads about it.

My iPhone 14 also didn’t have this happen.

I’ve tested setting photos to default 12mpx and no more app reloads! Probably 6 gb ram is not enough to process 24 mpx photos efficiently:(
