Hi everyone,

I am experiencing battery drain overnight with my new iPhone 15 pro, around 10% in 8 hours without having any apps opened, and without Bluetooth connection.

I would like to mention that I have 130 applications on my phone, and I’m wondering if this could be the issue of the battery drain overnight.

Is someone experiencing the same issue as me?

I have also tried to enable the airplane mode, and as a result I got 6% battery drain in 8 hours, which is still a bit too much, considering that all the WiFi and Bluetooth connections were disabled. I know people that only get 1-2% battery drain in 8 hours, on their iPhone 14 pro, for example.

Thanks in advance!

Dany

Yes I have the same issue, I moved from iPhone 13 Pro to iPhone 15 Pro, without restoring backup, and battery life is much worse on my IP15. I also have battery drain overnight (10-15%).

How to you charge your phone ? I have a Shortcut automation that stop charging at 90% since day 1, and I'm wondering if it's not just a battery calibration issue. I tried to charge my phone 1 or 2 times at 100% and every time, the day after, battery lasted much longer

I haven’t noticed the drain but I’ll take note tonight. Have you consider to put it in Low Power Mode during the night?

Do you have AOD or standby on? Those will slowly drain battery overnight, I usually leave my phone face down so the screen shuts off at night.

In my case, no standby mode and with automation I turn off AOD at 10pm and on at 6am, so it’s off at night

Yes, it is exactly the same for me. I’m happy that I am not the only one experiencing battery drain overnight, and with the same percentage. It must be an issue, and let’s hope they will fix it in the new iOS update.

Regarding the charging of the phone, I don’t let the phone go below 40% and I always charge it up to 100%. I actually noticed the same thing as you. After charging it for 2-3 times, the battery lasted much longer than in the beginning, when I received the phone.

I’m also making use of the dual sim capability, so this might be another reason for the battery drain overnight.

same here, Overnight Battery Drain in 8 Hours like 5-12% nothing shows up in Battery stats. Hope Apple will fix this soon.

what I also notice when I use the device after the night (after the battery drain has taken place) the battery % indicator seems to drain faster than before....

Yes, I am experiencing a very similar battery drain over night. However, this is even with Airplane mode, Do Not Disturb and Low Power Mode all turned on. So there really is no reason for the drain other than something being wrong in the background of iOS 17.

That could be the case. You can test to kill all the apps in background before going to sleep and see if there’s any improvement. I normally do this some nights esp when battery is around or below 20%. I don’t tend to charge overnight. I would just charge in the morning for about 30 minutes and I would last me the rest of the day. I do keep a charger in the car and on me in case I need another top up.

Slightly unrelated, but is that via shortcuts?

Would be interested in doing something like that myself.

Yes, from the Automation tab of the Shortcut app :

Btw, battery life seems better since 17.1b2, it's half day and I'm at 66%. Before 17.1b2 I was around 30-35% around the same time
