Anyone else find it interesting how the iPhone Pro series has this dark and light ping pong effect?

12 Pro - Pacific Blue (dark blue)
13 Pro - Sierra Blue (light blue)
14 Pro - Deep Purple (dark purple)
15 Pro - ? (light purple?)

Perhaps 15 Pro next year will be a light purple with Periwinkle Purple? What do you think? Stake your claim today and raise the "I Told You So!" flag if your right next year!

I have no idea what color they might pick for next year or how they go about deciding that, but I’d personally love to see a pink in the pro line (light or dark I’d be fine with either honestly).

For this year, I kinda feel like the deep purple was a bit of a surprise cause it seems like a lot of the cases I‘ve been looking at are utilizing a lighter purple (closer to the Very Peri purple mentioned above) instead of a darker purple hue. Maybe that fact is on purpose or maybe not, I don’t know but I’ve seen a bunch of purple cases and purple designs but just in a different shade of purple than I suspect they would have gone if the deep purple color was known ahead of time (maybe case makers did have that info I’m not sure). I personally am not the biggest fan of the deep purple but would have jumped on it if it was in the lighter/more blue based color range like the Pantone color of the year (but I’m sure there are going to be massive fans of the deep purple too).

I know one of my friend is a hardcore fan of an Orange in pro and pro max so we shall see

There isn’t enough data to sufficiently say that apple does a “ping pong” effect.

11 pro max - midnight green (dark)
12 pro max - pacific blue (dark)
13 pro max - sierra blue (light)
14 pro max - deep purple (dark)

also, if it’s worth mentioning,

13 pro max - mid cycle, alpine green (dark)
