A lot of people have said this is a great phone, due to the camera, and shell, yet a lot of people have also said it is a bad phone, due to iOS 17 X iPhone 15 Pro Max hardware bugs and problems like speaker issues, overheating, and glitching apps and photos stuck on sharing. I am getting my first phone, but i dont want to get a phone that is in beta. I originally wanted to get an iPhone 14 pro max, but they only had 256 GB and it was close to the price of the new 15 Pro Max, so i waited for the 15, and if im not getting the 15 i cant get the 14 cause they discontinued the 14 pro max, and i dont want to wait for THE PHONE (iphone 16) yet if i even am getting the 15 pro max even with the problems i will have to wait maybe since the stocks are low. I also want to get it with an EPP for Friends and Family discount from my friend, yet its still not released for the discount through my friend's employee portal. i dont know what to do. What do you guys think? This is going to be my first phone.

You have 14 days to return the phone if you don't like it. Why do people not realize this is the better option vs. random internet opinions?

Some YouTube influencers and 25-50 people on MR + reddit + some "news" sites are not "a lot of people."

Please don't rely on what you read. Buy the phone and try it for yourself.

Ehhh... I am not involved in iPhones so I can't give a very well thought-out answer. However I think for your first phone you should get an SE instead, it looks like a good "first step" into the product line... then get an actual iPhone later. For example, I got an iPad mini first, and then I got a """"real"""" iPad.

The 15PM runs flawless for me. I say go for it.

Some users are obviously having heat issues, and who knows how widespread it is, but it's still the minority.

It was a no brainer for me to upgrade from 14 Pro to 15 Pro Max

But it’s a financial decision and therefore personal/unique to one’s financial situation.

I second this. Try it - see what you think

I honestly never pay too much attention to stuff like this. Every year there are reports like this (seriously, search in these forum for iPhone n, and there will be threads with hundreds of posts about some disastrous flaw). I think it's partly reflects that Apple sells so many iPhones - literally tens of millions - that even very rare issues get magnified. And partly it's people working out some difficult emotions in public - envy at others with deep pockets, regrets at making expensive purchases and so on. Plus a little old fashioned trolling.

That's not to say that Apple never makes mistakes - these FineWoven cases look pretty bad for example, and the antenna issues with the iPhone 4 (a long time ago now!) were a big blunder. But the iPhones are normally pretty solid. It's not for nothing that Apple does extremely well in customer satisfaction surveys.

In general though, you're not going to solve the 'is it worth it?' question with a survey. What matters 'is it worth it for you'. We all have different disposable incomes and different priorities. It makes sense for me now as it's a relatively small part of my income, and I love mobile photography and new technology. If I was student on a tight budget, it would make zero sense because I could get a phone 90% as good for 30% of the cost.

For my experience, it’s worth it, here’s why:

1. Better signal strength, in places where my phone will struggle with signals and could not stream videos and send messages, now it just works with the 15PM.

2. Camera system, 24MP output is phenomenal which copes with the oversharpening of the deep fusion tech. The 5x is unique and exceptional, it gives you more variety for you photos, you’ll use it more than the 3x.

3. Weight. With the same style case from the same brand, the total weight is lesser and weight distribution makes single hand operations easier.

4. USB-C and 10Gbps speed for more versatility and data transfer.

So if you can trade in your phone (higher on 2nd hand exchange platforms than Apple’s offer, only if you’re experienced in 2nd hand trading), and have extra cash to spend, I’d say it worth your investment.

If this is really your first phone, one thing you're going to have to get used to every year as an iPhone owner is trolls trying to make you feel bad about your purchase. Just ignore them. It's never going to change.

This is not a device "in beta". You can buy confidently, and I would advise ignoring this place during your 2 week return period.

Honestly I’m going to the 15 plus to deal with battery issue, the screen size I need. I don’t need the always on display, don’t need the most powerful cameras since the iPhones cameras are amazing already, I’m only way now as we speak to return my 15 pro for a 15 plus, heard better things with battery life. Always a plus to have usb c too, I don’t need the fast speed since I always use the cable for charging honestly

Which battery "issue" exactly are you "dealing" with by doing that again? I don't care what you buy, just wondering.

My 120mm pictures look to have no focus and lack detail, I can’t get to like unsharp images on the 120mm let’s not mention the fake shots!. Unsharp and blurry images, remind me of a cheap dslr kit lens but much worse? Sharpening dosnt help. Looks like half the resolution. The 70mm shots were always crisp and amazingly sharp. Didn’t know how much I loved that lens. Deal breaker moment for me aproching. :/
