Has anyone in prior launches has ordered a iPhone in the US for pickup in Paris, France on Launch Day, where I will be the launch day?

Some questions I have:
1) can I pay with Apple Pay (Apple Card or other US Card through Apple Pay)?
2) will the eSIM from US Tmobile transfer to the new phone while in France?
if I purchase Applecare + - will it be valid for repair or damage in the US (I know the US is no SIM tray model - Europe unknown for iPhone 15)

Thanks for any tips

If you want to pickup an iPhone 15 in France in launch day, it would have to be the French model. Not the US one. Apple US doesn’t deliver or sell in France and vice versa. I would advise against do it as the European phones may not support US 5G bands, and it will be much more expensive.

Thanks. I realize the model would be a French model. I am trying to achieve two things, have a model with a SIM tray and get it on launch day. Will not be back in the US to buy one for a few weeks. At least on the iPhone 14 Pro Max I had compared the 5G bands and both appear to be identical. (here "https://www.apple.com/fr/iphone/cellular/"

On further review, it does appear that that the French may be missing these frequencies. Thanks for pointing this out

I am aware it will be more expensive, and I may or may not get the VAT back when I leave.

Yes I actually considered doing this as last year I was in Germany during the 14 Pro launch, but ultimately decided against this, due to it being a different model than the one offered in my country and a few frequencies were not supported in the German model and even if AppleCare+ provides global support, they may not have the specific model available which they could just say that it is not stocked for replacements in my country (Mexico).

In the US, it may be different and maybe they have replacements for all international models, but I preferred not to risk it.

Are any of the missing frequencies used by your US carrier in your US region?
From what I can find out, T-Mobile 5G Bands are n41, n71, n261, n260, so yes some frequencies would be missing from the French model of the 14 Pro Max. Let's see what the specs are for the 15 Pro Max.

You may not get a sim tray in France:
