So I haven't seen this topic widely discussed. A few months ago I had to have my iPhone 15 replaced with the exact same phone but it still worked so I searched google to see if anyone did a direct cable transfer for 15 to 15. I couldn't find a single article so I just went ahead and attempted and it worked. I used a Belkin thunderbolt 3 cable thats USB3 capable of 10 gigs. It took the transfer about 4 hours. So fast forward to this past weekend and I did the same transfer from my 15pm to my 16 pm. It took almost 5 hours. Also in that time I had several text messages come in and I could hear the chime but once my phone switched numbers over it took my number off of all my iMessage devices so I have no clue who texted me during this time and once it was completed I never had those messages show back up. Outside of that my bigger question has anyone been able to get usb 3 speeds in a direct phone to phone transfer and how long did it take and what type of cable did you use? Also if you seen any videos or anything comparing this please point me to it as I haven't been able to find anything on the subject.

Did the phone indicate on the screen that it was using the usb C port to do the transfer? I wonder if despite you plugging it in, if the phones were still just using the wireless method.... That seems like an excessive amount of time despite how much stuff you may have.
