On my iPhone 15 pro, even if I switch it off, it awakes with notifications, which is really annoying.
How can I stop this??

Are you actually powering the phone off (hold down side button and either volume button simultaneously for a couple of seconds, slide right to power off), or are you just locking it? (press side button once).

If the latter, you need to open the Settings app, go to Notifications, then go through each app and unselect "Lock Screen" under "Alerts".

I press the Side button and volume button.
I had an iPhone 8 before, and when I switched it off it stayed off.
I would rather not have to turn it on and off using 'do not disturb'.

As mentioned above, are you sure you are turning it off?

You say you are pressing the side button and volume button. If you are just pressing it, then you are taking a screen shot.

You have to press and hold down the buttons until you get the screen with a slider (actually slide the slider) to turn off the phone. If the phone is indeed completely off, there is no way for notifications to come through.

Another way is to go to System Settings-General-Shut Down.

Yes I push the two buttons then slide the 'slide to power off'.
The phone goes dark.
How notifications from the calendar and other apps appear with sound beats me.

When you turn your phone on, you get a screen before you enter your password.
That is the screen you get when the notifications appear while your phone is turned off. It has the date and time on the top, and the notification, but you have to enter your password to use the phone.

As another member suggested, go to settings/general/shut down and turn off the phone using that method.. When I shut off my 15PM it receives no messages, notifications or anything else.. If you're receiving anything your phone isn't actually off

I understand what you are saying but it is off, and when I get a notification I cannot use the phone until I enter the password.

Then it seems like your phone restarted or turned back on after you turned it off since it is requiring you to input a passcode.

Are you turning off the phone and then plugging it in to charge or setting it on a charging pad? If that is the scenario, doing that will cause the phone to turn back on.

If it's asking for the passcode it isn't off or you did a hard reset instead of turning it off. If you aren't doing what @spikeymike is asking, your next step would be your local Apple store to see if they can straighten it out..

But you do like to switch it completely off in stead?? This makes no sense. Also: you can program the action button to easily put your phone in ‘do not disturb’. One button. Easy.
And your phone cannot wake up and notify you if it is truly shut down, so something else is going on.

I turn it off and leave it until morning.
I usually charge it during the day, never at night.

Sounds to me like you have a dodgy charger, that is switching off for a moment at some point and turning back on. If that happens it will reboot the phone.

My suggestion is to try a different charger and see if it happens again.

Warm greetings my friends.
It is all about the lock screen, I think.
The lock screen, when enabled, can override both 'Mute' and 'Shutdown'.
I found all my notification apps had the 'lock screen' alert option enabled.
So I unticked them all, and so far so good.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
