Hi everyone,

I’m wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue on the iPhone 16 (Pro Max). When I’m using mobile data while roaming (with roaming turned on), the connection keeps dropping. Specifically, the 3G icon continuously appears and disappears from the status bar, and mobile data stops working.

I tried resetting the network settings, which temporarily fixed the problem—5G was working fine right after. But about 30 minutes later, the same issue came back.

Has anyone found a more permanent fix for this? I’m tempted to jump on the iOS 18.1 beta, thinking it might address this bug, but it feels like a major problem to deal with on a flagship device. Any suggestions or similar experiences?

Thanks!

Update on the situation, for those interested:

I tried to request a new eSIM from EE, before updating to iOS 18.1 Beta.

This left me without service, as an OTP has to be sent to my phone number for activation of the new eSIM, however, the request of the new eSIM deactivates the old one.

I won't be in the UK for the next 2 months, meaning I can't use the service until then... quite disappointing.

Regardless of that, I updated to iOS 18.1 Beta, as there is an annoying bug in the iOS 18.0 which has now been resolved on the newer builds.
