IPhone 16gb that was unlocked and accidentally updated! Now what?

I have a 3 month old 16gb Iphone that I purchased on ebay as Unlocked, since I have to use Tmobile for my service for work. My husband made a huge mistake by playing with it and running the update for Itunes. He realized his mistake when I came into the office and started screaming at him!!@#$% Anyway, now the phone only shows the usb cable and Itunes logo on it and will not do anything else. I have tried rebooting and that has not worked. I am scared it will be bricked if I do anything else. Can anyone help? Please! It took me forever to get save the money and make this purchase, to be unable to use it! I MISS IT! Thanks so much!

Have you done a complete reboot? Holding the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home button together for at least 15 seconds? Then a restore from iTunes?

Your iPhone is locked.

You're going to have to unlock it for use other than a legit AT&T iPhone contract.

I'm in the same boat as you unfortunately, we just have to sit and wait for ZiPhone or iLiberty to come up with a hack for 2.0. Just be patient as there is nothing you can do at the moment sorry........if there is i havent found it yet lol

I was able to downgrade a 2.0 phone back to 1.1.4. It's kind of a pain, but there is a thread on it in the Hacks forum.

If installing an older version of iTunes qualifies as a pain, then yes. Downgrading to 1.1.4 is easier than running pwnage.

Yeah just use Pwnage Tools 2.0.1 to jailbreak and unlock the iPhone again.

The good thing about iPhones is they hardly ever brick. So a restore and PWN with one of the programs and you'll get a 2.0 Unlocked and Jailbroken iPhone Works flawlessly.

When I downgraded, I tried the steps listed in the Hacks threads on this site and had issues. I'd have to find the link if that is what you are looking for.

For the poster who said downgrading is easier then using Pwnage, you must not have downgraded. Pwnage is about as easy as it gets, not to mention you need to use Pwnage (or some other program) to use bootneuter after you downgrade to 1.1.4.

No, I have downgraded. It took less than ten minutes.

Pwning my iPhone the first time took substantially longer. Creating an .ispw file takes some time.

I pretty much need a step by step guide if it's possible, my iphone is currently being detected by my itunes in 'recovery mode' after having restored factory settings, i've downloaded Pwnage as well so any help from anyone is greatly appreciated!!

This is the link that I followed. Make sure you take your time and follow ALL the steps (especially restoring twice!!!). Speaking from impatient experience.

It's a pain, but it's the only solution I found to work on my phone. There are others out there that didn't work for me. YMMV though.
