We upgraded to the iPhone 16 Pro for the entire family. Each one of us individually have had many issues from drop calls, poor Internet, and 5G connection. Often we must turn the phone off and back on to reestablish connection. Worst phone I’ve ever had. I wish I had my iPhone 12 Pro Max back. Apple should admit that this phone has many issues and intern, address them. There should be a recall similar to when automotive companies recall a car once an obvious issue has been detected. Very disappointed.

Have you reached out to your carrier to make sure ya’ll are not having any network issues? I noticed that when I moved a 1/2 mile away from my old residence a year ago, my service on my 15PM plummeted. I went from having 4 bars and consistent service to barely having 2 bars and seeing SOS some days. I have to go to certain rooms just to have service, or I have to stay connected to WiFi in the house, or even leave the house, drive a few minutes and then have all 4 bars. I have Verizon by the way.

Clearly you either have a problem specific to the iPhone you’re using or the network you’re connecting with. I suspect the latter.

While I’m sure some people have problems with their iPhone 16 Pro do you think you’d be the first to discover these major defects warranting a recall six months after it was released?

Oh, ok sorry to see that.
But I’d say iPhone 15 Pro Max is the “worst iPhone ever” in the same vein because it overheats when doing video chat and games etc while iPhone 16 Pro Max doesn’t do any of that until hours has passed. In fact, my partner had and iPhone 15 and she repeatedly told me video chatting with her caused her phone to heat up majorly and we had to cut the call just to keep the temperature down.

Yes I agree that the 15 Pro Max has been the worst iPhone to date that I’ve ever owned. I use it in the same manner that I’ve ever used my other iPhones and the battery heats up quickly even when I’m not streaming over video chatting with anyone. I browse social media more than anything or write in my journal. I took my phone off the charger 29 minutes ago at 100% and I’m already down to 98%, and all I’ve done is browse Macrumors.

I love my iPhone 15 Pro (waiting for USB-C was worth it!) but my god, after moving to the city and using GPS, my battery life is SO BAD. Like sometimes charge by 1 PM bad

My 15 Pro is set on a charge limit to 85% and I commute between country side with 1 bar, sos, or just plain no signal to the city with full bars 5G most days, while also browsing on the phone a lot and using it for audio in my car. Most days end at 30%. Others do require charging before work if I've been gaming hard. Generally it's better than my SE3 charged full ever was, so I'm happy. Temp is only a problem when playing games at max graphics 60fps for more than 20 minutes with the case on, or running the same graphics settings through a 4k monitor. USB-C was definitely worth it.

Sorry your family has issues. The 16 PM is a great phone, so you need to figure out what is going on with your family's phones. It is not a bunch of lame 16 PMs all in one household.

i don’t know about you but the 16 lineup isn’t the worst iPhones ever (but they remind me of the iPhone 6 era like the 15 Pro to the 5s)

The one thing that may save you from that is adaptive power for iOS 26. Maybe when you turn that on it could help a bit.

My 16PM has been perfect since November. As others have said, your carrier is probably the culprit. Try them first, then ask for replacement phones if that doesn't solve your issues. Good luck!

As others have said and most have thought, it is likely that your carrier has the issue. Call your carrier and get your issue fixed.

I bought an iPhone 16 - not the Max. It's the worst phone I've ever had - often can't connect to the internet via wifi or my mobile service. Absolutely fed up with it - it's driving me round the bend. Apple needs to sort this out asap. Other Apple devices that I own have no problem at all, connecting to WiFi.

This is a dramatic post. Your issue sounds like it’s likely network conditions or user-error.

On my iPhone 16 Pro Max, repeatedly have problems when I phone out. It will ring but regularly get silent when connected to a voicemail or something.

Noah fence, but check your carrier. iPhone 16 PM has seriously been the best phone I’ve owned.

I’ve owned every iteration. 15 Pro Max was a fatal flop. Bad battery life, constantly getting hot and awful selfie pictures.

So, there has to be something with your carrier.

Who's Noah and what does his fence have to do with this? ;)

Whilst I never had any issues with the hardware, iOS18 certainly wasn't anywhere near optimised at all. The animations on the OS would frequently lag which is both unheard of on iPhones up to now and rather worrying for the increased GPU load iOS26 puts on the phone. (Maybe the crappy beta performance isn't because it's a beta?)

What did realise was that the 16 Pro is a actually way more phone that I ever needed. So I sold it and with the proceeds bought a Pixel 8a and the new Switch.
