I actually have one of those tools that displays how much force it takes to remove an accessory and I tried it and you have to have proper setup to even have a consistent reading, it’s too sensitive and inconsistent. The number of people who truly care about that is super case enthusiasts “maybe” and people on this forums like ourselves is such a minuscule number on the grand scheme.
I’m far more interested in the day to day display of MagSafe. For instance, my iottie vent mount in the car. While the Mous case certainly doesn’t have the strongest magnets, it is more than strong enough for my vent mount. I’m not overly concerned about any other test. That’s just me though

Like Mous for example, people will always bash it and say it has a weak magnet, is it weak compared to others, sure but its strong enough to handle your MagSafe needs unless you need some motorcycle mount or something. Apple has weak MagSafe magnets but nobody talks about that it seems.

My 1 and a half month old silicone is still in perfect shape! My previous ones from my old iPhones are also still in pretty good shape, no chips or tears, except for one in which my phone had a really bad fall. I’m usually very careful with my phone so idk if that makes a difference or I’m just really lucky haha
In my Apple Silicone case experience the flaws showed up from taking the case on/off or wear near the bottom swipe area.

China X-One plateau protector too thick to work with precise cases :(

Just put the Sheath back on and the cameras are noticeably deeper in the case and some of the orange edges of the phone are showing along the top edge and top sides of the front :(

If you want to use precise cases, forgot about this one.

Peeling this crap off and running naked again

The one I use from the Etsy seller is very thin. Don’t have a problem with the precise Sheath.

All these reviewers on YouTube attaching random MagSafe accessories to cases and shaking to “test strength “… can someone get them a fish scale or something maybe so they can at least see how many pounds of force they get before phone careens off into oblivion with such a useless method of testing MagSafe strength lol.

Grinds my gears.

Come on.

The most useless method to consumers is to test like this so they know how many lbs of weight it takes to pull their charger or wallet off.

Ridiculous.

The most useful method of testing is to know if their wallet or charger is going to fall off when the phone is moved, caught on a pocket or when driving. So the shaking and pulling reviewers do is perfect to know this.

Honestly, what is this thread becoming with posts like this, people going crazy because they can see slight mould markings or because their camera cut outs on their cases is 0.1mm off centre.

People in here are starting to drive themselves crazy with wanting precision, aircraft grade engineering which is you’re never going to get in a product that is so mass produced. Buy a case, try it, post your thoughts and a few pics and then keep it or send it back.

Really felt like TechnicallyTee was mocking frustrated Caudabe Sheath customers in his latest video.

Things like the seam - yeah, every case has a seam. No one bothered looking at the seam on the Sheath until they felt discomfort from something digging into their hand. Caudabe already admitted it was from a manufacturing defect, and they were the ones telling customers to file the case down.

"digging into their hand" is probably a bit of an exaggeration 😂 😂

I received my second Sheath for base 17 and again I can feel the seam when holding the phone. It doesn't feel any different than the first one. @TechnicallyTee I did not mind it visually, haven't even noticed it was there at first nor took the case out of the box to nitpick about every millimeter of it just so I can back and forth with their support, I just wanted a case that looks nice and feels nice in the hand. I'm not saying it's like that on all the Sheaths, it is probably not. On some maybe there is, but people don't notice/don't care/didn't have Sheath before so can't compare with previous versions. On Paragon they managed to mold 2 different materials seamlessly so I guess it is possible. Also on volume button side of Sheath the seam is also a bit visible, and I know you can't really hide it completely because it's not a 1 piece case, but I don't mind it at all because I can't feel it when holding the phone. If it was like that on both sides and bottom, I wouldn't care at all. So I don't think it's cool calling out people that got defective units because there is always a possibility not everyone received the same identical case. I'm returning the Sheath even though it was my favorite iPhone case so far and I've tried 10+ mostly premium brand cases so I know what can be expected of premium quality case that has a pretty high price. And I'm keeping the Paragon because the replacement I got was perfect and kudos to Caudabe because that one both looks and feels premium.

I’ve honestly seen some posts where I’m like man come on seriously? You can barely tell but hey who am I to tell someone about their case they spent hard earned money on. M fault, I do feel people were piling it on when it comes to Caudabe this year. He upset with them about not shopping on time, cool but other things I feel were nitpicky when there were no one else complaining anywhere else. Tons of people received them in my discord and it seems like all the issues came from people on here. I could be wrong.

I somewhat was honestly because I feel some things were a stretch this year when it came to Caudabe. The buttons, cool I completely understand that. The rest I feel was a few one off issues that were blown up on here to make them manufacturing defects on the entire one of cases or something.

“You’re never going to get that from a product that’s mass produced”

Please say that again for the people in the back.

My case is slightly misaligned but I wouldn’t have known it until it was brought up. Least on mine you need an inspector gadget magnifying glass to see it.

Goodness a whole lot* of typing…

We want different information & we look at it differently; there is nothing wrong with that.

Still waiting for OB Cactus (out of stock), till then in search for covered plateau case with substantial screen lip. Any ideas? According to recent reviews Sheath and Grip won’t do in that regard…

I feel like this goes without saying, but some seem bothered by comments like this. So - this is only my personal opinion.

Maybe some of us do have very high standards. If someone is charging over $50 for a case, I think it’s fair to expect high standards. If you put “perfection” on your packaging, you’re asking for it even more.

Look, I’ve said it before and will say it again. If Spigen can have consistent production on a sub-$20 case, Caudabe and others absolutely can for over $50. Same goes for Apple. I will not accept a product from them that I can visually see a defect on with my naked eye. You can’t charge premium prices and then expect a pass on things like that, in my opinion.

It’s not the end of the world. I totally get that mass produced items will not ever be spotless. However, you can choose tolerances in manufacturing. It’s a cost approach. I expect tighter tolerances for premium items that are priced higher.
