How many of you Pro model phone buyers would be willing to give up the 3rd camera lens for the thinner Air model phone?

Not interested. Just an Apple demonstration on how thin can they make a iphone. Not giving up my cameras for thin. For those who want it, pony up and it is yours.

How much lighter are we talking about in grams? My 14 PM is so heavy.

Not sure. It's to be substantially lighter. I'm excited to see the difference.

As I reflect on my usage, I don't take that many photos. I certainly never zoom. My use case.
If I'm paying Pro prices, I'm getting a Pro.
I agree with this.

The latest estimations I’ve seen are that, at 5.5 mm, it should be around between 150 and 160 G.
Just for a reference, the iPhone 13 mini was 140 g, and the 14 Pro Max was 240 g.
So pretty close to the mini, but with the screen size of the Pro Max.

Only if battery life not low. Would like it to be similar to 16e if possible even with one lens

My guess is 25–30% less, which would feel quite substantially less.
i wish this would be correct. as i am definitely going to get the Air.
but most likely it will be only about 10-15% less weight than the 17, if similar components are mostly used, and most of the weight loss is due to the slimmer frame itself.
however, it will feel much lighter due to the slimness, and potentially easier to hold.

The iPhone 16 Plus weighs 199g, which is 17% less than the 14 PM at 240 g, and the 17 Air should be noticeably lighter than the Plus. The 25–30% I was guessing translate to a weight of 168–180g.

If the Air 17 is 5.5 mm as rumored, then that’s 2/3 of the thickness of the 16 PM, which weighs 227g, and 2/3 of that is 151g. However, the Air could conceivably be a bit denser, and the relative weight contribution of the camera bumps is an unknown, so I’m guessing that it will be more than that.

This level of theorycrafting is wild
