What should the price of a 60hz base iPhone be to make it a fair deal?
I want to find a relevant current 60Hz competitor phone to make a comparison and I realised even low end things like the $400 A35 have adaptive refresh rates from 60Hz to 120Hz.

So a 60Hz only phone should be around or lower than $400.

Personally I don't mind a 60Hz iPhone. But I mind the current price tag.

Apple should start a customize your iPhone service. I think everybody would love it.
Except the pricetag.

I'm pretty sure the Air is going to be a folding phone. $1299 price tag for a single camera and an ultra-thin and light design? Sounds like a folding phone to me!
You wish!!
Honestly, I hope not.
On a side note, I also hope Apple will start offering a new iPhone mini. THAT could be foldable. The important for me is to have the possibility to use a small sized screen where one thumb to touch its screen is enough.

So you're saying the iPhone 16 has equal or worse value than the $400 Galaxy A35?

I want more iPhone 18 rumours please.
Giving us reasons to skip the 17.

Dont wait until mid September to do it.
Get on the case now.

Find that person inside Apple who has the roadmap of features all the way out to iPhone 21 and pay them off... ;)

We’re ten months away from September 2025, wouldn’t we be getting some rumors indicating that by now? I don’t think Apple is that close to releasing a folding iPhone.

If they do this, other than the cameras, I wonder how they will differentiate the standard from the pro models going forward. Especially since they set the precedent of using (essentially) the same processor on the standard and pro models.

Possibly more RAM and a smaller Dynamic Island for the Pros first?

I’m so excited for the iPhone Air! I hope they remove the ridiculous camera hump and make the device slim. At last users who don’t shoot Hollywood films on their phones and don’t wan’t to carry a brick in their pocket will have an option.

it's going to become a slightly harder sell to push future pro models over the base 17/18... etc if/when promotion is default screen tech, beside the additional cameras

maybe the pros will get an advanced version of the promotion to ensure a segmentation between each iphone generation lineup

Cameras.

Why ca

i want a polycarbonate phone. Aluminium sucks. I want a light phone. Sub 150g
In the past they used internal metal structures to make the polycarbonate products more sturdy, increasing the overall weight. Not to mention issues with cracking, discolouring and scratching. Aluminium has much better properties and is the better choice.

iPhone Aluminium 5 (2012) - 112 grams
iPhone 5C Polycarbonate (2013) - 132 grams

MacBook Unibody Aluminium (2008) - 2.04 kg
MacBook Polycarbonate (2010, lightest they ever managed) - 2.13 kg

I'd love an aluminum back on iPhone again, get rid of the glass. That could be quite a weight saver.

"iPhone 14 Pro through iPhone 16 Pro models can go as low as 1Hz, allowing for an always-on display that shows various Lock Screen elements even when the device is locked."

as if 1Hz is necessary for a always-on display. Especially when "nightstand mode" requires the phone be plugged in. I like nightstand but it was another "buy the new iPhone" gimmick. I swear a bunch of weasels run the company.

I miss the times when there was no iPhone pro. It was just an iPhone. One regular, the other bigger... This is what Apple's portfolio should look like - one regular iPhone, the other pro. Over.
