Hey everyone!

Got an iPhone 17 Pro Max yesterday and quickly noticed that it would restart / reboot when the screen was locked. Noticed the issue as I would have to enter my password instead of using Face ID. Took it to the Apple Store this morning and swapped it for another phone (same model) but this one is experiencing the same issue. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this? The only apps I have installed are the Proton Suite (Pass and Authenticator) and Instagram. Any help would be appreciated!

If you wipe the phone and set it up as new, does it still have the problem? And also did you do the update on each phone?

Yes, just factory reset it and I have also restored it. Both have been updated! Extremely confusing...

If you turn off Wi-Fi, does it still happen?
Also, is it happening both with an un restored set up his new phone? As well as the phone wanted to restored from a backup?
Not happening when the Wi-Fi is turned off! The panic log mentions AppleCentauriAlpha. Both restored and unrestored are experiencing the issue. Looks like someone else on the Apple Community site is experiencing the same - hope it gets fixed soon!

Edit: Neither phone was restored from backup. Both were set up as new iPhones. Restored as in I used a computer to reinstall the operating system.

I also have this issue on my iPhone 17 Pro and it is driving me nuts!!!
Like in the past four hours this happened 28 times!
Only fix that I have found is disconnecting from my home Wi-Fi. Initially I found that turning off the Wi-Fi entirely fixes it, but then I ‘forgot’ my home Wi-Fi and it still seems to be working fine.

I saw something in another thread about Wi-Fi causing issues. It would be interesting if you joined another Wi-Fi network somewhere else to see if the same thing happens.

The issue doesn't occur when I'm connected to my home Wi-Fi. But today, I was using the library Wi-Fi and it rebooted constantly while I was connected. So I basically disconnected the phone from Wi-Fi

Was experiencing unrelated (or related) internet issues earlier today. Just set up the new router and everything seems to be working as expected. Weird that an internet issue would crash the phone repeatedly though.

Definitely an issue with the library Wi-Fi, although the phone should be able to stay connected without rebooting haha.

Okay! Turns out that there was an issue with my router. Got it replaced by my ISP and everything is working now.

Ok I think I know what’s going on here. There are absolutely zero issues when the phone is connected to my home Wi-Fi (2.4 and 5Ghz). The library router is this kind of router that “kicks” you out, when it is not used for a period of time.
So my guess would be: iPhone is locked & connected to Wi-Fi > not in use, so Wi-Fi disconnects > iPhone “panics” and reboots.
