iPhone 2.2 Jailbreak: Can someone please make my weekend

I have iPhone 3G 2.2 firmware used to have AT&T service. Now I don't have service nor SIM card.

I would like to Jailbreak and I tried QuickPwn many many times but not successful at all. It says not able to get to DFU mode. I am using Mac OS QuickPwn version.

Can someone give me step step instructions including QuickPwn download site as well. This will make my weekend if I can unlock and get my iPhone to work with any GSM provider.

Is it better if I upgrade my iPhone to 2.2.1 via iTunes and then Jailbreak?

When I tried QuickPwn to Jailbreak, many times iTunes keeps coming to bug me to ask if I want to upgrade to 2.2.1 firmware or trying to sync. Is it normal while we do the Jailbreaking process?

P.S. Use a powered USB hub while jailbreaking. Too long explain why just trust me.

Thank you. I got it Jailbreaked and installed and ran yellowsn0w. To verify, i need to get hold of GSM SIM card other than AT&T to verify if my phone is really unlocked.

Thanks a lot again for all of you. You guys really made my weekend :)
