Realistically, what can we hope for in iPhone 2? Here's my list (and what will keep me from buying a first gen):

* 16 gigs of flash RAM
* Simplified calling process (one button to bring up a keypad)
* 3G AT&T data
* Word doc editing
* GPS linked to Google Maps
* 5 megapixel camera

And ... unrealistically, but a guy can dream ... voice to text.

If we get these features in iPhone 2 within, say, 9 months, won't all of you standing in line feel pretty stupid? Will iPhone 1 have any re-sale value or will AT&T tie you to it for two years?

I'm probably wrong but I can't see Apple releasing the 2G iPhone within the next 2 years. It'll piss a lot of people off.

Hmmm iPhone

I would like to see an iPhone that:

(1) Isn't on the Cingular Network (Sprint and/or Verizon)
(2) Has the same flash memory but is much much cheaper
(3) Flash support
(4) Better audio for voice calls... it isn't like we haven't been using cell phones for a fifth of a century.

(5) Replaceable battery, expandable memory, even better battery life.
(6) MMS text messaging, but that may just be because Cingular isn't giving it to the phone now.
(7) iWork Mobile, iLife Mobile,
(8) Video capture
(9) Since it won't be on the Cingular network... I can buy insurance for my $500 phone.

(10) A touch screen I can use with gloves on... so my hands won't freeze in the winter.
