Hey,

I got an iphone 2g which is currently on 2.2 firmware. I don't have the original simcard for this phone.

Is there any chance I can unlock this to use with any sim?
I have tried to restore it with the custom firmware but itune 8.02 does not allows me to progress to the restore process on the service boot mode in iphone. It has an error.

What is the alternative? Getting the original simcard is out of the question for me since I don't have it.

Yes. Download QuickPwn or PwnageTool.

I follow the procedure for quickpwn and pwnagetool.
I was able to create the firmware 2.1 custom restore file, my problem is when I use itune 8.02 to restore it, it will error out.

Without the simcard, my phone is on the emegency call screen only.
