iPhone 2g goes back to SB after trying to use phone option.

hi, i JB'en my iphone like million times before but this time was different cos i had to activate my 10.5.6 system, and also i just switched to mac so did a restore to have it mac formatted and so on, to be able to detect in in DFU mode. never had any problems. installed winterboard and few apps and now every time i try to go to use my iphones phone option it goes back to SB and does not allow me to dial a number , check voice mails or go into contacts. it freezes for 4 sec and go back to SB. i can call by going to contacts but cannot dial a number.

what you think ? what might be the cause?

I had this problem after I installed that software KATE or something like that -- the one with the caterpillar logo. After I uninstalled that (maybe re-installation will fix) it seemed to work OK.

Try a reboot. Then, if that doesn't work try a hard reset by holding down the home button and power button until the screen goes black or for about 8 seconds. The iPhone should reboot but if it doesn't then hold the power button down for about 5 seconds. If that doesn't work you will have to do a restore. I know JB'ers don't like to hear this but it sounds like you may have to.

I have heard of many problems with Kate. Uninstalling Kate may fix the problem.

thank you people ! it was kate, i tried uninstalling it but didnt help so had to reinstall it than iP worked ok so next thing i did was to uninstall Kate and now iP works like a charm !
