Hello. I just bought a iPhone 2g 8gb model yesterday. Seller didn't disclose that was activate locked and now I feel defeated. He didn't provide a SIM and I have no absolute way to activate. I tried restoring it by hooking it up to an old version of iTunes. I believe version 10 or 9. It said can't restore. Now it is stuck in at a different screen now and I don't know what the heck to do anymore. Right now I'm not using my other computer that had the old version of iTunes. What happened is I found a video of how to bypass this with RedSn0w. Problem is I download version 10.6.3 and it won't even detect that their is a device at all. I hear the chime sound when I disconnect the iPhone but nothing shows that its connected. Also now it went from the NO SIM INSTALLED install with PIN to just a connect to iTunes logo. If someone could help me I would appreciate it. Thank you. Also I know that the 2g is out of date and no longer exist. Thank you

I don’t know what carrier you expect to use a 14-year-old iPhone on. Most of them won’t communicate with it at all.

No I do not want to use the phone as a phone. It just another piece to add to the collection. Just started collecting more valuable apple products. Just need to add a first gen iPod and I think I will be satisfied. Just wanted to unlock to get into IOS. Finally ended up just using redsn0w to bypass the activation lock and got in.
